Any experience of Vegatest ?

I've just had a Vegatest and it's come up with various intolerances, probably temporary according to the practitioner.
I've looked online and seen that there seems to be little faith in this method of testing.
Anyone any experience of it themselves they'd be willing to share please?

no experience, but its well known as being totally unreliable as an allergy test.
I am sure it came up with a list, some of which are common foods which cause intolerances.

what made you take the test?

milkfreepadfoot I took it because I've had some real strong nausea, seemingly out of the blue. I thought it had come on after certain foods so I just wanted to see if anything showed up. I went to someone who has a really good reputation locally but didn't know anything about the type of test until after I'd had it done.

I had a vega test done relatively recently. It showed intolerances that I was already aware of (dairy, beef) but also other ones that I wasn’t aware of (oranges, grapefruit, beer) I had previously looked at the research and although there is skeptism surrounding it, it’s really helped me. It also flagged up vitamin and mineral deficiencies that I wasn’t aware of, plus showed I’m anemic which I wasn’t expecting. I only knew about it because of other people’s anecdotal evidence.

Were you tested in a shop which sells vitamin supplements by any chance?

The skepticism surrounding it basically consists of evidence based scientific and medical bodies all saying it has no worth as a test for allergies and intolerances.

50/50 chance that they will pick an allergy you think you might have....total waste of time and money.

rock I was tested in a nutrition clinic.

like a lot of things, it depends on the skill of the practioner.
It does work but you need to find someone who really knows what they are doing. l would recommend only going to someone with medical background for the best consultation.
