Dairy free porridgr

Hello all, my DD is 5 months and we have started weening with vegetable purée.
I would love to give her some baby porridge....but they all have milk in and my little one is CMPA.
Does anyone know of dairy free porridge for early feeding 4-6 months. The only dairy free I have found seem to start from 7 months.
Thanks

Just blend your own oats. I think you can buy ground oats too. Then you can make with water or his usual milk Smile

You can use Ready Brek too. No need to buy expensive baby cereals Smile

Penfold007 · 01/03/2018 19:28

Ready Brek isn't suitable for anyone with a milk allergy. I use ordinary porridge oats mixed with water and cooked on the hob, the more you stir the 'creamier' the porridge.

Sorry I hadn’t realised Blush

Make normal porridge with water or your normal milk.

I give my son porridge oats given a quick whizz in a coffee grinder, and made with breast milk. This is good , because as the baby gets older, you can make them less ground down, making more regular sized porridge.

Baby porridge is garbage anyway. Just buy some porridge oats and make it with water and/or some of her formula/ expressed milk.

BikeRunSki · 01/03/2018 19:35

Just use ordinary oats and water - "basics" ones are good because they tend to be small and cook down even smaller. . Cook in twice the volume of water for about 5-10 mins. The creaminess comes from the release of starch from the oats, not dairy.

PopMusic I only knew because DD is CMPA

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 01/03/2018 20:55

Penfold it’s me that’s CMPA, luckily the DC are allergy free. I’d always assumed that Ready Brek was ok. Just shows, yiu haveto check everything Smile

BlackeyedSusan · 02/03/2018 14:56
