Ds's visit to the dietician - an update

I posted a while back for some advice about getting DS tested for lactose intolerance. We'd been advised to do an extended dairy trial at home but I wanted to know if anyone's LO had had a breath test or similar as the hospital seemed reluctant. Anyway...

We saw the dietician yesterday and she said that breath tests are a bit unreliable, especially with a young child but that she can arrange for us to come in and give him a lactose solution to drink followed by a blood sugar test. She also wants to test him for dairy allergies (skin prick and RAST test). And she says she suspects he might be anaemic as he is very pale and sleeping a lot and has almost no meat in his diet.

I just wanted to post an update for anyone who was interested.
