Coeliac + hypothyroid and pregnancy

I am hypothyroid and coeliac - both under control. I developed the hypothyroidism after my first pregnancy and coeliac after my second. My DH and I are seriously considering TTC a third child but I am scared it may trigger another autoimmune response. Does anyone have any experience of this? Or know who it would be best to consult? My GPs are okay but don't seem to have a massive amount of expertise on autoimmune diseases...

Hi op

Didn't want to leave you unanswered, to the best of my knowledge as a fellow suffferer and retired nurse your pregnancy should have the opposite effect as immune function is reduced in pregnancy

I had serious rebound issues about 8 weeks post birth as my system ramped back up but I was undiagnosed at that point

Talk to your specialists, make sure your thyroid levels, vitamin and mineral levels are optimum especially b12

The nature of auto immune conditions are that you rarely have one, are likely to have a 2nd diagnosed within 2 years of initial diagnosis

I have many but with control I roll on ok, never going to run a marathon but no longer in a wheelchair
