It's interesting that they lump all of these formulas together. My DD had lactose free formula for a month twice because she developed temporary lactose intolerance. It was recommended by our GP, but we were told we had to buy it ourselves and it wasn't hugely more expensive than regular formula. That is massively different to some of the other special formulas out there which can be really expensive.
