Egg and milk free birthday cake recipe please

HI I hope someone has a lovely egg and dairy free cake recipe as my ds is two in a week adn i thought i better attempt to make him a cake. Any recipes greatfully recieved.

Hi Donna, I have a recipe for a lovely boiled choc cake that works out perfectly each time. You can substitute butter for dairy free spread and the egg for egg replacer or pureed banana/apple.

Boiled Chocolate Cake

1 cup water
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 oz butter (or dairy free)
2 tbs cocoa
2 eggs (replacer or puree banana/apple)
1 1/2 cups SR Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda

Place, sugar, water, butter, cocoa and baking soda on low heat until melts - then simmer for a few mins. Let Cool. Mix in beaten eggs and flour. Turn into 7 inch round cake tin (greased or baking paper). Bake in moderate oven for 45 mins approx. Ice when cold.

When my ds was 2 I did this replacing the butter and eggs. I iced it with "butter" icing using dairy free spread and icing sugar. Because the cake is boiled it has a dense texture and does well with substituting most things. hth
