peanut allergy list of products

dd2 has a severe peanut allergy.
I have found lots of lists of products that are safe, but does anyone know of any lists to AVOID as i think that would be far more helpful ?

you can get lists from the major supermarkets but you aren't going to be carrying them around when you shop and they soon go out of date as manufacturers change production processes. The "safe " foods list is a lot shorter. You have to get used to reading ingredient lists, I'm afraid.

Worst problem areas tend to be chocolate and ice-cream. I doubt you'll manage to avoid those entirely - at the moment magnum ice cream and galaxy chocolate are what we buy. Cadburys often seem to feature in examples of whole nuts being found in chocolate marked "may contain" . Might just be because thye produce a lot of chocolate but even if you normally risk the may contain labels you might want to think twice about that one.

Be careful of lupin flour unles your child has tested negative for it.

Avoid chocolate except ofr kinnerton who have a nut free factory. - there is often contamination in chocolate.

so many things say may contain nuts as they may be used in other parts of the factory. It is very difficult to judge which ones are really likely to be contaminated and which are not.

We have this with other nuts not peanuts, but as its almonds which are not quite so common and the allergy isn't anaphylactic yet I usually take the risk with things like plain biscuits etc.

I have been on Cadburys website and it says chocolate buttons are nut free? I have been giving my youngest these as his older brother eats them?
