Walnut allergy - Dordogne, France (walnut zone)

Hi,

I'm thinking about going to The Dordogne area of France next year but am a bit concerned about the walnuts (DS 14 has severe allergy). There are walnut trees on the campsite, walnuts in the markets, walnuts lurking in the food and oils etc. The guide book has a picture of a woman shelling walnuts in a basket. I am being over paranoid about this? Could being around walnut trees be an issue? Should we do the Alps again instead?

I was in the Dordogne in the summer, its lovely - and we found food allergies very well understood in France provided I articulated them in French and I certainly wasn't tripping over walnuts!
