DD was hospitalised with severe stomach trouble back in June, turned out to be a blockage made worse by Allergic Colitis - they kept her in for a couple of weeks monitoring & Movicol treatment - big improvement in IBS since :)
We were told her blood showed Immunoglobin E response of 3,500 instead if 10ish, so a bad delayed allergy to something - told to cut out all CMP
We then get discharge notes, that say she's allergic to Dairy & Soy & to cut out BOTH Which after asking discharge nurse if this was right, we have done - not realising that this is probably an exclusion diet ??
Since been told by Nursing friend & Doctor friend that this sounds wrong, the only way to check this sort of allergy is by exclusion diet & therefore cutting out 2 unlinked food groups for months, makes no sense - tried to speak to Gastro Drs secretary, but never had a reply after several tries.
DD has eaten a little CMP once at a party - she was fine,
She ate Soy by accident when I got caught out by a white bread roll - stomach flared up badly fir a couple of days, very bloated within 30 minutes & IBS
We finally have her follow up appointment tomorrow & I'm wondering how to handle it - any advice appreciated please
