Could this be a reaction to cow's milk?

My dd is 7 months and has, over the last 2 days, developed a rash on her torso and blustery spots on her legs, hands and bum. The only thing I can think that has been different recently is her having cow's milk in her breakfast instead of breastmilk. The HV said it could be due to the milk but the gp said it's just a flare up of eczema.
Does anyone have experience of reactions to cows milk in babies and, if so, what were the symptoms? She has also been very unsettled the last 2 nights which is very unlike her.

Also, you need to ask GP for an urgent referral to an allergy pediatrician/clinic.

You need to stop giving her anything with dairy in and as you are breastfeeding, stop eating any dairy.

You also need to be really careful and introduce each potential allergen completely independently for a week, so you can see if she reacts to it. So for example:

Soya (give her something that is dairy, wheat, egg and nut free that contains soya)
Wheat (again do the same, give her something that contains wheat but no other allergens, weetabix maybe?)

Etc. that way you'll clearly know if she reacts to anything else.

There's an excellent book on allergies by professor branstoff called 'the complete guide to food allergies and intolerances'. Definitely worth while getting a copy, it is very comprehensive.

In terms of symptoms, for my DD, it's either hives (redness with a small tiny spot on it) or a very rough eczema patch (like the skin is flaking up). She always has alongside this a lot of pain like crying at night. As soon as the dairy is out of the system (about 2 days), everything dissappears.

Thank you for your help and advice. After a second trip to the doctor we discovered she actually had hand, foot and mouth disease which explained the blisters and rash. I am going to be very careful about reintroducing cows milk however and will take your tips into consideration when I do. Thanks again
