Impulse buy in Aldi but I'm on a tub a week of boojabooja /greenalt &bessily or whatever its called. Not egg free but don't know if custard with almond milk/coconut milk would work as a direct substitution

Shamelessly marking my place. I have one too and have made a few batches but they were not great!! I did buy it second hand but it is currently sitting in the kitchen gadget graveyard, unloved and unused!

That'll be me soon! I'm such a sucker for the weekly offers at Aldi...

Sounds good Miaow - no messing about with custard then!

Just got one for my birthday and am dairy free so have been experimenting. Got given some rhubarb by a friend so made a very sweet puree (about 5 cups of fruit to 1 cup sugar) then mixed it warm with a tin of good quality coconut milk (e.g. 75% solids) 1 tsp cinnamon and 2tsp of vanilla essence til it was thoroughly mixed, then cooled and in the machine it went. It was absolutely lovely with crushed pistachios on top. I reckon any fruit puree would've worked though.

We just picked a load of strawberries and they were going mushy so I did a goat yog strawberry Fo Yo - It would work with Soya yoghurt instead too. Mmmmm making me hungry!

I will try that!

Coconut cream with frozen raspberries, frozen banana and maple syrup all blended together the frozen works brilliantly.

Any kind of sorbet would work. Whizz up an egg white with a little sugar (meringue basically), add fruit juice and/or pulp and whack it in. Simple and delicious! Gluten and dairy free Wink
