I always use Aeriel washing liquid. Mainly because DP had quite a bad allergic reaction to persil several years ago so I like to stick to a brand i know is ok. I also use fabric softener usually comfort but i do use others.

Anyway today i have come out in an itchy rash, its all over but in patches. My mum said it must be reaction to the washing powder as its not on my face which is the only place clothes don't touch- there is some on my hands but my mum reckons that sleeves touch your hands.

Could i suddenly be allergic to washing liquid or fabric softener i've been using for years. Also may add that for both a have recently just finished off the bottles so the clothes wouldn't have been washing in a new bottle that i hadn't used before.

It's possible.you can become allergic to anything at any time. They can also change formulations. But it's not the only possibility.

Greydog · 15/12/2013 19:54

Yes -as Giles says they could have changed the formula,

Chasdingle · 15/12/2013 19:55

i've took an anti histermine and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Hope its not a washing liquid allergy can't face rewashing all clothes

Where have you been? What did you wash clothes with? Anything in the load that could have contaminated it sobe how? Something spilt on one of them?

What about a sofa? Has third or the dms been cleaved recently? Dog? Plant? Cat?

Gileswithachainsaw · 15/12/2013 20:00

Has yours ffs damn phone

Greydog> Understand they could have changed the formula but i have literally just finished a bottle so the clothes would be washed in the old stuff and i only washed things in the liquid from the new bottle today.

can't think of anything different. We put the xmas tree up this weekend but its an artificial one and DP put it up anyway so can't see it being that.

Can't think of anything been split on anything either and the sofa hasn't been cleaned. Was round at a friends yesterday afternoon so i suppose it could be something from there. I was ill with a sickness bug earlier in the week and then last night i did have dirrorhea (sorry can't spell and sorry if TMI) but i feel perfectly fine now just itchy.

Any visible bites? Bed bugs, fleas, ticks,

Chasdingle · 15/12/2013 20:24

no, no bites, its kind of like bumps with red skin in between

It could, possibly, be related to the diarrhoea. If so, then I would expect it to begin subsiding within a day or two. If it doesn't subside then it's quite possible that you have become allergic to a laundry product. Fabric softener is apparently the worst for triggering skin allergies.
