Allergist appt - environmental as well as food?

We have an appt with a paed allergist later this month. I got GP to refer us as thought LO's facial rashes (and minor body eczema) were food related. However we are finding it near impossible to pin down the cause (apart from the fact that she seemed better when we were away on holiday) and so starting to think it might be environmental instead - pets?

Just wondered - those of you who have been for similar appts (skin prick testing?) - what do they test for?

I am worried he is going to think we shouldnt be there as LO's skin is not THAT bad (though we are having to use hydrocortisone occasionally) but as she refuses to eat solids we thought things might be related).

thanks
alice

A skin prick test revealled I was allergic to dogs. I had always thought it was cats but apparently not.
