Allergy to Penicillin & pregnant

My boyfriend is starting a course of penicillin. Which I am allergic to. I'm also 18 weeks pregnant. Should we avoid sex/kissing?
I don't even know how allergic I am because I haven't had it since I was a baby. I would normally not care, but because I'm pregnant I don't want anything to happen to my baby if I were to have a reaction!
