Dairy free ice Lollies - does such a thing exist?

DS is CMPI & allergic to soy. I am really struggling to find a dairy free ice lolly . He's only 15 months so don't want something massive. Ideally a mini milk type size. Does it exist?

You could always get an ice lolly mould and make your own using juice.

GrimmaTheNome · 23/07/2013 19:54

There are loads of fruit ice lollies around. But making your own is easy and then you'll know exactly what's in it - a lot of the commercial ones will be very sugary.

I've looked for fruit juice lollies but can't really find any that are milk free unless they are adult size. Mostly looked in tesco & the co-op.

Ideally I would like to make my own. I need to send a couple in to nursery but can't find individual moulds, only sets which won't fit in their freezer.

We tend to buy the cheap supermarket own-brand water ice types. Sugary but its a treat!

Pancakeflipper · 23/07/2013 20:02

Aldi had smallish dairy free lollies ( smaller versions than getting one from the icecream van).

Bonkerz · 23/07/2013 20:08

Asda smart price are mini milk size. 8in a pack for 69p and my cmpi ds is living on them in this heat! Also loves rocket lollies!

CokeFan · 23/07/2013 20:10

Ice pops? Mr Freeze, for example, does not contain any animal products (according to their website )

That way you could send them in not frozen and have nursery freeze them as necessary.

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 23/07/2013 20:15

Waitrose Essentials own brand ice lollies are dairy free and about the size of a mini milk.

GrimmaTheNome · 23/07/2013 20:15

Could you make a set, take them out of the mould and send one in to nursery in a Ziploc bag or suchlike?

NothingsLeft · 23/07/2013 21:00

Great, thanks I will head out of tesco!

Not heard of ziplock before but will order some.

My son is anaphylactic to both milk and soya and we buy ice lollies from tesco. They are the same size and shape as mini milks. 67p a box, no bad stuff, colours or sweetmers.

OHforDUCKScake · 24/07/2013 14:25

Here we go.

Cely56 · 28/07/2013 17:31

I make my own with natural unsweetened fruit juice.

boxoftricks · 28/07/2013 17:52

We have these from waitrose

OHforDUCKScake · 28/07/2013 18:15

Strangely, they contain wheat??

OHforDUCKScake · 28/07/2013 18:15

(Waitrose ones, not the tesco ones)

youarewinning · 28/07/2013 21:45

OHforDUCKScake I buy those for DS (who isn't actually CMPA!) who loves them. He's been living off them in this heat and CAN demolish a whole box in 2 days Wink

Bonkerz · 28/07/2013 23:14

Beware calippo and calippo ice shots as they contain milk protein....... I made the mistake of assuming a fruit ice lolly would not contain milk protein cue call to doctors for emergency meds to help ds poo it out of his system BlushSad

TiredFeet · 29/07/2013 20:43

this thread is really helpful, thank you!

OHforDUCKScake · 29/07/2013 21:50

Bonkerz my son has had calipos and they didnt contain milk protein. The shots did though.

OHforDUCKScake · 29/07/2013 21:51

this says may contain

Was it the calippo shots that he had?

Pancakeflipper · 29/07/2013 23:30

We have not had issues with Calippos but not had the Calippo Shot things.
