Allergic to unborn baby???

So I'm 11 + 5 and have been developing an allergic reaction over this past week, its still very mild but is definitely getting progressively worse. I've had allergic reactions before, although no one could ever find out what I'm allergic to, but they always flared up within the hour, never lasting this long or progressing this slow.

This is my second pregnancy, I have a daughter and had no problems when pregnant with her, so. I'm wondering if maybe I'm having a boy and am having a reaction to boy hormones? Because this started at the exact time the baby would start developing testosterone if it were a boy.

I have read a couple of freak news stories on this but just wondered if anyone knows anything about this or if its possible?

Are you itching, is that what you mean? If so where is the itching?

Itching all over, slight rash. Itching started on my knees, then couple days later my elbows, then wrists and ankles, now all over and seems to be getting itchier. This is how I've had allergic reactions before, but a lot quicker. And I definitely haven't eaten anything different.

Is it even possible that it could be something to do with the baby? I have no idea!

Pg changes your body and you become more sensative. So its common for allergies, asthma to get worse when pg but it is highly unlikly you are allergic to your baby.

There are also a few conditions in pg like eclampica that make you itch so i highly recommened that you call your midwife or gp to rule these other conditions out first.

You need to go and see your midwife just to be sure. It may be nothing (pregnancy can be an itchy time!)- or it may be an allergy, or it could be something called intra-hepatic cholestatis of pregnancy.

I'd raise it as a concern to be on the safe side.

I think just the fact that I never had anything like this with my daughter has thrown me a bit! I will definitely ask midwife if its still a problem when I see her next. Thankyou for all advice!

If it is an allergic reaction, its called PUPPP and you'll very likely be having a boy.

I suffered horrdenously with this.

There is a theory that its an allergy to the male DNA, but its just a theory they dont actually know why it occurs.

I cant remember but it was in full, hellish swing by the third trimester. My bump was a mess and my forearms and thighs were covered too.

It didnt help that it was summer time.

Itching made it a thousand times worse. I sat with wet muslins on my skin with a fan on it was the only thing that relieved it.

I smothered myself in steroid cream, that helped. And of course the second he came out, it stopped.
