How do you know if they have hayfever?? Just my ds came home from school coughing showing no signs of a cold before, and coughed so much he was sick. sorry to hijack thread but i thought you may know,

no. dd1 has it. classic itchy, watery eyes, running nose, sneezing, cough.

it's that time of hte year! i've got it myself and have popped a claritin.

tinyFox · 10/05/2006 12:04

He hasn't got the watery itchy eyes just the nose and cough.

expatinscotland · 10/05/2006 12:05

it's the change in the weather, methinks, tinyfox.

i woke up all sinus-y w/post nasal drip and runny nose.

i have sinusitis a lot in addition to hay fever and yes, the post nasal drip can make you cough till you're sick. NOT nice, but does happen.

I wondered this too, DD is 22.5 months too and she has gold caold like symptoms but i wondered if it could be hayfever instead.

sugarfree · 10/05/2006 12:20

I started with it 3 months before my 2nd birthday.,so it could be.

EvesMama · 10/05/2006 12:29

everyone told me no..but my old doctor who was wordly wise and very good told me in fact yes they could be affected the same as us..my dp has it bad and when dd was born(april 02) the weather was glorious and pollen horrible..she had it at only a few months old!..but they cant give them much at that ageSad

lunarx · 10/05/2006 12:31

oh..i dont think its hayfever ;) dh does. ds is also teething and a runny nose and a new tooth go hand-in-hand for him. but am asking for dh's benefit ;)

I don't doby that they can get hayfever this young. My ds is also 22 1/2 months old and has a sneezing fit upon waking every morning and sneezes periodically throughout the day. Thankfully, he has no cough and doesn't seem to have the itchy eyes. I was expecting it to be honest as I have hayfever, but he also has eczema and food allergies.

I guess I should ask the HV when I go to clinic this afternoon.

Opps Blush, that should read: I don't doubt!
