Having a wobble - DS having food challenge tomorrow

I know I should be pleased, its just I am worried about what will happen if the allergy has not gone away after all and the skin tests were wrong.
Also DH will be taking him as I have to work( and I won't be able to see what is happening and he is so useless at explaining afterwards)
Please share your experiences of food challenges and reassure me

what food will they be challenging?

I don't have any personal experience of food challenge, tho from what I have read its a long day, as they will introduce the food very gradually.

It is a worry but it is controlled and in the best environment.

My DS1 had a nut test. They started with nut oils. They did tiny drops onto his skin, they rubbed peanut butter onto his skin and finally he had to eat nuts.

It was a full day event. We had one 1 person do

We had 1 person doing the tests all day with us which helped my DS1 ( he was 3yrs old).

I should think there's lots of opportunities to talk /text to your DH.

I have done a couple with my son. How old is he? When he was very small I had to bring in food for them to mix it into. Do they supply everything? We are always there full day. harder to get them to keep eating the nut etc throughout the day. A lot will depend on the hospital and how they conduct them.

Thank you for your replies. It's a challenge for sesame. I seriously doubt we will ever be in a position to try nuts eggs or fish.

Sadly the sesame "oil" from crushed seeds reacted on the skin around his mouth. He then rubbed his eye and the skin around this all swelled up too, so sadly the allergy is clearly still alive and well.

well least u know it still has to be avoided, did his skin prick and rast come up negative?

The skin test did. They have never done blood tests.

we have only ever had spin prick tests too just thought id ask x
