Clinique eye make up remover allergy

I'm here on the recommendation of Babybarrister - thanks btw.

So I had a horrendous reaction last night after using Clinique Take The Day Off make up remover.

The ingredients are:

Water, Isohexadecane, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trisiloxane, Peg-4 Dilaurate, Lauryl Methyl Gluceth-10 Hydroxypropyldimonium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Edta, Phenoxyethanol

I've used this a couple of times before without problems.

Last night, within 20 minutes of using it, my eyelids were dramatically swollen (three times usual thickness) very sore, red and weeping pus.

Could anyone identify a particular ingredient that I might need to avoid? My eyes are now scabby and still sore. Thanks.

googling just two of the preservatives, I found reports of reactions to Hexylene Glycol and Phenoxyethanol but equally it could be one of the other ingredients. To identify which one, you should probably ask your GP to be referred to a dermatologist or allergy specialist so that you will know what to avoid in future. My sympathies, I have to be very careful with cosmetics, contact allergies can be very itchy and uncomfortable.
