I am baking a birthday cake for a pupil in my class and have just remembered that I have run out of safe treats for my pupil with a gluten allergy. The only thing I can find at home is Ambrosia rice pudding. It only has a warning for dairy which he is able to eat. The ingredients are milk, whey, rice and sugar. This sounds safe to me but I wanted to check. Don't have time to go to shops before school sadly.

It sounds fine, ambrosia usually say specifically I they contain gluten. Other ideas- chocolate, or a little bowl of icing!

I've just checked on coeliac uk food directory and it is gluten free. I would also like to add that I hope my own son ( who has coeliac) gets a teacher as thoughtful as you when he starts school.
