Hi,

My 3 yr old ds is severely allergic .I am really desperate to find a chocolate for him

Any ideas?

if DS is severely allergic, he's quite likely to be allergic to chocolate.

However if you feel he really needs to try it, what about green & blacks dark organic choc ? taste like mud mind .

Kinnerton do a dark egg (seen them in Tescos) that are nut/dairy/gluten/egg free.

what is he allergic to ? my friend is a bit of a choc expert, so can ask her what she recommends, if you can let me know what he can't eat.

(she was vegan for a while, so has tasted ALL kinds of choc in her quest for something along the lines of cadburys)

Plamil no a gluten free/dairy free/na added sugar chocolate bar. you can get it in a health shop. they will probably have other brands too.

DS is allergic to soya, milk, egg, nuts, and some other things not expected in chocolate. I have not been able to find a chocolate that being milk free is also soya free, they always have one or the other or... both. Sorry.

Could a free from all those things chocolate cake make up for it? there's a recipe from Mymama that is yummy. There is also a Dietary Specials Chocolate cake mix which is not bad, I use that one to bake brownies :)

i had a look at the plamil website, they seem to do quite a few that are also soya free. they look like they might be ok ingredient-wise.

Green and Blcks does not taste like mud. Its the best choc in the world - won't have anything else. You could melt some and roll raisins in it praps?

I think that Green and Blacks has Soya lecithin in it.
I could only eat the sainsburys taste the difference plain chocolate when I was avoiding soya feeding DD. plus one other I can't remember
BTW it tastes good too if you like plain chocolate and I still buy it now sometimes

this is easy, kinnerton, try a large sainsbury supermarket. Or order on web site. easy to find.

are you going to the allergy show in june? I recommend it, kinnerton have a stall, buy in bulk.
They have a bar which is free of all the things you mention ( they produced a easter egg this year) and its very good to eat and for cooking.

we dip fruit kebabs in melted big bars in the summer.

My ds (2) has never had chocolate. And in fact doesn't know what he's missing. Why are you so desperate for your ds to have chololate? if you dont mind me asking?
