It's by Alice Sherwood, entitled The Allergy-free cookbook and has over 200 pages of recipes which are dairy, egg, gluten and nut free. It was £12.99 and a bargain at the price.
It's endorsed by Allergy UK and has a foreword by Dr Adam Fox, so is well vouched for in the allergy world. I could hardly believe it when I found this book, nestling next to the student cookbooks in Waterstones. I didn't know such a thing existed!
At the risk of sounding like an over-emotional loon, I was nearly in tears when I started reading. It's easy enough to find recipes which are dairy OR egg OR nut free, but very rare to find a whole book devoted to avoiding four major allergens at once. And written by a mum who has a son with allergies... It does include recipes with fish, sesame etc. but these are flagged up and substitutes suggested.
Finding safe and palatable meals has been hard for me over the last few years, and I seem to spend my whole life planning around food. Normally, I hate reading recipe books as it is so depressing - there are hardly ever any things I could actually cook for my whole family. I just had to share this good news!
