Eczema and heat

Is there a link between eczema and heat? My dd's eczema has had a massive flare up since it got hot. It has only been this bad before after she had allergic reactions to peanuts and tomato but this time there was no obvious trigger. Do you think the heat could have set it off?

My ds's eczema is bad in the heat, I think it's where he sweats, I'm not sure, but under his arms has been the worse part.

try washing the effected skin with dettol soap then apply hydrocortisone cream

Myself and ds only get ours in the heat. I've just noticed a new patch on his back tonight. Lots of Epaderm helps or aqueous cream.

I think heat is notoriously bad for eczema so hopefully that's all it is rather than a worrying reaction to food. My DD really flares up in the heat - it's been so long I'd forgotten :) Apart from the heat itself, as soon as she has bare skin she scratches like mad... so I'm always struggling to know whether it's best for her to be covered up and baking or exposed and scratchy...

DS's eczema has also flared up massively this summer. And he had been eczema-free for a year! So I massively sympathise. Am trying to convince myself that it's only the heat and not some delayed reaction to yet another food! I'd been using 1% hc cream with no effect until the GP said that now he's 2 we should use Eumovate and that has made a huge difference. I tend to opt for the covered up option, but now that the eumovate has got to work he can go for longer periods with short sleeves and shorts and not scratch!
