Dear Aunty Mumsnet,

I thought I had got food for ds all sorted, but another problem food has popped its head up.

My 1 year old ds is currently milk, egg, soya, nut, seed, salmon and chicken free and now it looks like we need to go wheat free too. We have had to go the blw route as he hates spoons. I have absolutely no idea what to give him to eat that he can pick up himself, at the moment he seems to eat wheat based foods for almost every meal. Its wheat or potatoes.

I desperately need any recipes or ideas that that the lovely Aunty Mumsnet can think of. Pleeeeaaassee!

Yours sincerely,

NeedMenInWhiteCoats

Rice, I make it sticky for my 13 month old. He just shovels it in. All veg, all fruit. Quinoa is a good one too.

I know what you mean ds has wheat or potatoes with almost every meal too. But I think we spend too much time thinking about it. I mean, even if your som was allowed milk eggs salmon etc, I expect wheat and pots would still feature highly. It just does.

I worry too though, youre not alone. Smile

Corn tortillas maybe. Veggies are usually quite good to hold.

Sorry for forgetting to post again and thank you for the ideas everyone. We really are in potato land at the moment!
