Gluten AND SOY free ice cream cones?

AllergyMama · 26/06/2012 10:31

I have been looking for ice cream cones for my little one allergic to wheat, dairy and soy but all the gluten-free/wheat-free waffles/cones I can find contain soy (lecithin). Does anyone know of any brands that wouldn't contain soy?

Many thanks!!

Hiya. I have coeliac disease so I know how tricky it can be trying to live a normal life (eating ice cream, going for pizza with friends etc) so, although I can't answer your question, I'm replying so the message will be bumped and someone who does know will see it.

I hope you find an answer.

I got some from dietary needs direct that are free from everything (practically!) they are called barkat.

Hi
thank you both!
Unfortunately those Barkat ones contain soya, just like any other gluten-free ice cream cone I have been able to find. :-( And for our little one dairy and soya are also excluded. But perhaps someone knows a brand... it would make her summer!!!

They contain soya lecithin which our dietician and allergy specialist have told us is fine because it doesn't contain any soya protein which is the bit you're allergic too. A fair bit of research has been done into this which has shown soya lecithin to be safe. But obviously of you're anaphylactic to soya the I'd avoid just in case.

I had a look on the Goodness Direct website but no joy.

I got the gluten-free Barkat ones but turns out they contain soya flour... :( Are the different kinds?

Hi, Im just wondering if you ever managed to find an ice cream cone suitable for your little one? I have a 3 year old who is allergic to both wheat and soya and i can not find one anywhere that he can eat.
