Hot red wrists and screaming after tea. 10 month old

Hi there, DS ate tea tonight, homemade spaghetti bolegnaise and ice lolly made with a fruit puree. He ate his tea but when he was nearly finished his lolly he started screaming, quite high pitched. It was difficult to distract him but after about ten minutes I did, he then played for about half an hour and started screaming high pitched again, at this point I noticed his wrists were red and very hot. I put him in the bath and he calmed for a few minutes then he started screaming again, I couldn't pacify him for about 40 mins when he eventually took his bedtime bottle and crashed out. He had two big burps after his bottle and the second one made him cry. DH husband came in from work and noticed wrists straight away. It is really out of character for him to cry like this and wondered if it could be an allergy to something? He has a light cold at the minute too, doesn't seem to be more than a runny nose. TIA

It does sound like it might have been an allergic reaction.
They tend to show up very quickly, so it is possible that there was something in the lolly? Fruit juice for example?
Did he have any redness around his mouth or face?
I hope he has made a complete recovery.
