Mystery allergy - allergic to MILs house???

Whenever I'm there I get an allergic asthmatic wheeze. No joke.

She's no pets, or feather cushions, which are my usual triggers.

I didn't wheeze when we had mould in our house, but could damp cause a reaction when mould didn't?

Any suggestions for unusual household allergens?

Oh I wish I could use this excuse?!

Attempt to be helpful.... Does she dust before you arrive? Bleach or other cleaning fluids?

I would guess cleaning fluids or air fresheners, if she is a clean and tidy type. Or if she is the opposite, mould or dust mites?

does she those hideous plug in air freshners or those ambi pure stick things?

Perfume? Spray deodorant? Yuk to air fresheners!

She's tidy, but not a clean freak. She does like smelly stuff though, fabric softener etc.
There's definitely some damp in the kitchen/dining room. I didn't get this at her old house so seems likeliest now I'm thinking about it.
The reaction comes on really quickly.

I tell you those ambi pure stick things bring me out in a major allergy response within minutes!
