It's from Morrisons butcher section...does it just say this as a precaution to cover their backs...does all meat say this and I've never noticed it before? It's just a plain turkey crown...no stuffing, no casting etc.

Oh I've just had the same - bloomin' turkey from Asda, says 'may contain peanuts'. WTF? How can a turkey contain peanuts. I didn't think to check... arrghhh!

Unless it is marinated in some dressing then it is probably a case of arse covering - as in produced in a factory that some other poultry product like satay chicken was in

No its not basted so going to go for it! What a nightmare!

Good luck - sure it will be fine Smile

I think I might know how you feel. Our turkey has come with no ingredients list, but the local butcher has assured us that it's fine - i.e. organic, no additives at all. He knows us well, and I do trust him, but can't help being a little bit nervous... anyway, it's coming out of the oven and just about to be carved.

Merry Christmas to you!

Everything in Morrisons says "May contain allergens". It's completely unhelpful, because it doesn't say which allergens. Personally I always ignore it if it's something like meat. My DD has a CMP allergy.

I think it means that there may be some cross-contamination - so if they were doing butter turkeys on the same production line then there's a small risk there might be some transfer onto other products, even though they don't have milk/peanuts/nuts or whatever in their ingredients.

Thanks!

Merry Christmas!
