Salicylate allergy (raspberries etc)

I think DD might have developed allergy to raspberries and clementines. After having a bit of raspberry smoothie last week she broke out in hives, then few days ago she had a clementine and had diarrhoea for 3 days and now she had just a bit of raspberry coulis on panacotta and promptly threw up after getting up from the table.

My question is: is it possible to be allergic to only some of the fruit? Because I've just read raspberry allergy is a salicylate allergy and salicylates are present in many fruit, veg, nuts and cheese etc, some of which she has been eating without a problem.

A bit scared to give her some broccoli now Confused

I'm allergic to raspberries and, as far as I know, no other foods. I get blotchy red rashes when i eat them. The rashes are mainly on my legs. I'm not sure about the salicylate technical bit!

Thanks, Kitty. Yeah, DD got hives (like nettle rash) all over her legs.

Good to know that the allergy may be restricted to just one kind of fruit.
