Pregnancy Eczema, how long will it last????

Hi all, I wonder if anyone could help me? I started to get an incredibly itchy rash on my tummy stretch marks about 3 weeks before giving birth and just assumed it would vanish after having baby. However, it has since spread to my legs, feet, arms, back and worst of all my boobs. i've been to see the doctor and he said it's pregnancy eczema but couldn't give me any indication of when it would disappear. I've never suffered with any skin complaints in the past but was just wondering if anyone has suffered like me and how long post-birth it took to clear. I feel like i could rip off my skin!!!
Thanks
Sal

Go back to the doctor, sounds like an allergy or infection. e.g. scabies.

sorry to say I developed this when pregnant with dd (no rash though just insance itchiness and dryish skin) and it went away when she was around 1yo

It then reared it's head again when pregnant with ds and it still comes and goes now Sad he'e just turned 3

I was told to try piriton though with no effect although it may work for you, stop the itch scratch cycle and all that, if I am very good and don;t scratch it it eventually passes iyswim

HI - I had eczema as a child then nothing till pregnant with DS - it went pretty quickly after he was born but reappeared and like MrsN I'm sorry to say it was worse with 2nd baby and more widespread and hung around for some months. DD is 17 months now though and it's largely a distant memory.
