Does eczema worsen throughout the day?

DD2 has eczema and has been diagnosed with egg, dairy, and nut allergies. She has none of those things in her diet now.

I notice that her skin looks pretty good in the morning and that at the end of the day she can look quite red and splotchy (particularly on legs). She is even more red and splotchy with she gets out of the bathtub (we usually use Oilatum or Epaderm as the emollient and Aqueous Cream to wash with).

Anyone else have similar experiences? Any advice?

Many thanks!

Yes! My ds is exactly the same. He is always more red/splotchy when he comes out the bath and sometimes when he has just been creamed.

I don't really have any advice, just keep up the moisturising and eliminating allergens from her diet. The there are the obvious things like using only cotton clothing, keeping her cool. I have been known to wet wrap ds when he looks like creaming alone won't control his eczema. I would rather use this above hydrocortisone.

Do you suspect that something that you put in the bath is making her irritated? In our case, I would think so, but dd is getting progressively red/blotchy throughout the day it just sort of peaks at bathtime -- so I'm just not sure what to think.

I don't think that it's anything that I put in the bath, as he only gets bathed once a week. I think with us it could be down to the re-introduction of fabric softner into the washing.
