Hi, just wondered if anyone can recommend a good washing machine for allergies. My dd gets eczema and I want to find one with a good amount of water in the rinses. Most limit water use these days, so just wondered if anyone has any recommendations? Mines very old so uses a lot of water.

i have an indesit which has an extra rinse function.

it also seems to have quite alot of water when it rinses, when i do dds nappies it comes about half way up the door when its filled.

Any really good machine (Miele, Bosch, Siemens) will rinse thoroughly.

Yes my Boch had an extra rinse. It is so old but looks like it has given up the ghost finally. Bamboobutton thats good to know about your indesit. Just so much to look into I don't want to make a mistake with dd skin.

have you thought about using soap nuts instead of washing powder ?

chloesmumtoo · 07/02/2011 10:19

My dd has life threatening nut allergy so I would be a little weary on using them ezzie21

My Miele, (basic model) has a water plus function to use extra.
It also has a soak function which I love, it puts an extra 2hr soak in the middle of the wash so the powder, or stain removal stuff gets longer to work. It's the only thing I know to really get stains out properly.

Thanks for that info about your Miele with the water plus function fiveisanawfullybignumber. Done some studying and I have ordered myself a Miele now! Sounds a good brand, fingers crossed it will arrive Saturday and can bring an end to the pile of ever mounding washing.

No probs, thanks for letting me know I've been useful.Grin
I love my machine sooo much, first time I've had an infatuation with an elctrical appliance.Blush
They are renowned for solid construction and reliability. Expensive to fix when out of warranty but worth it.

We use a Whirlpool 5kg capacity and it makes a brilliant job of all our clothes-mind we have always used a very effective laundry powder from www.skinsalveation.com.
I find that the machine rinses thoroughly, but I think the powder actually makes the clothes feel softer and there's definately no pungent fragrance, they just smell very fresh.
Hope this helps
Jane
