I have a 2.5yr old ds1 who was allergic to gluten (grown out of it - so there is hope!!) and is still allergic to egg and cashew nuts (and borderline peanut). Ds2 is allergic to milk and is on hypoallergenic formula. I'm about to see the dietician next week re: weaning guidelines for the trigger foods (gluten eggs etc.), but am becoming concerned that I'm not going to be able to find any baby cereals that don't contain milk. All the ones I've looked at on the shelves seem to have milk in.
Does anyone know of anything or any anufacturers etc. that I could contact? I know the vegan society is a good source of milk free
products for when he is a bit older, but its the baby stuff I need at the moment. I'd be really grateful for any advice.

we used to give weetabix and porridge, both suitable (or was then... guidelines change) from weaning, there was also one flavour of baby organix that didn't contain milk? other options we have used include mashed banana and soya yoghurt mixed, both the allergic ds's liked that

Just use weetabix with the special formula here, mix in fruit if he is not that kean, never used the baby cereals.

There is one in a pink box - think it's Organix. Apple and raspberry cereal or something like that. I used to give that and tried the banana one too. Also found a muesli-type cereal in a box from Boots own brand.
Now using Weetabix.

I used to put oat porridge in the blender and mix it with fruit puree. I also found milk free baby cereal in France, sweetened though.

Baby rice, made with water or fruit puree - honestly your ds will not know other things exist.

My DS will be 3 on Friday and he is allergic to diary. I found Ready Brek mixed with fruit compo from Organix and his soya milk very good and my one year old loves eating Cheerios with a cup of her milk on the side.

Thank you so much, you've given me so many ideas. Like so often with these allergies, at first you are pretty daunted by the lack of choice out there, but you soon get to know what is and isn't suitable. I'd better hit the shops tomorrow. Thanks!

You can also buy rolled rice flakes from health food shop. I used to mix with bm and then soya milk when weaned. My ds is 2.5 and has just graduated onto rice bubbles last month.
