Ds is 2 and skin tested positive to allergies to wheat, dairy, egg, fish and nuts at 7 months old. We stayed clear of all that and his (mild) eczema cleared up straight away. After last lot of testing at 15 months in Dec 04 showed no result for wheat and dairy we have slowly introduced organic wheat bread and cows yoghurt and cheese every other day. He has not had one reaction or flare up of eczema during this time. Two days ago I noticed the start of eczema around back of neck and ears so I have only fed him his "pure" foods and not given any wheat or dairy or introduced any new foods. This morning he is covered in a slightly raised rash that is driving him crazy with itching. It looks very similar to the rash that first appeared when showing signs of his allergies at 4 months old. He has got a cold and is taking panadol and dimetapp which he has had many times before. I feel so tired of dealing with this all of the time. I know he is lucky compared to some others with more allergies/eczema but I am feeling sorry for myself/him at the moment Anyone else get tired of the second guessing and difficulty of it all???

hiya Yes it gets very depressing second guessing everything. `is it a normal rash is it an allergy rash. is it something they eaten touched arghh can drive you in sane. The only piece of advice i was given was admit 1 food at a time for 2-3 days c if the rash goes if it does reintroduce the food and see if it comes back. Time consuming but eventually effective. unless its just a rash.

Hope you find out what it is. hugs donna

Mymama, I'm sorry you are going through this, you don't know how much I understand you. DS eczema has been controlled for almost a year but a few weeks ago it has started again, I believe that what may be making the things a bit worse in that front is that the days are getting colder and the central heating has started to work. Though as with everything, I'm second guessing.

Staceym11 I would personally not give her those foods as it could do the opposite and increase her allergy to it. Perhaps reintroduce at a later date.

donnacb I do the same. Every sniffle, rash, off day he has I am trying to work out if it is normal baby stuff or allergy related.

chandra we are into spring heading for summer and it is already quite hot most days so it could probably be the heat/sweating.

Rash seems to be clearing up slightly. Only thing I have done is wash all of his clothes and bedlinen/towel in plain hot water with no detergents. It was starting to clear up before that though so I have no clue but am grateful it is settling. He is due for skin testing in November and I am afraid they will find he is becoming allergic to something previously okay. Has this happened to anyone????

Chandra just read on other thread you have had bad news re your sons allergies so you probably also feel like it never ends. I hope that it is something you can manage and that things look up for you soon.
