I know this might seem mad but I think "I am".
On quite alot of occasions Ive come across this thought.
I take allergy tabs for the common allergies, I suffer with hayfever, & skin allergies.
But on Saturday I woke with "what I thought" was the start of a cold. My nose constantly itched & run,I was sneezing, my eyes were puffy & running. I suffered all through work feeling like crap.
The next morning I woke up with a clear nose, eyes ok, minimal sneezing (for me).
I knew I couldnt have a 1 day cold! But thought back to what I used to wash in the shower. Id used Palmolive Arromatherapy shower foam. When Ive previously used the same make, but in a shower gel or foam bath, & always suffered with the same feeling.
Ive also bought a lavender pillow & reacted the same.
Has anyone suffered from this with lavender, or anything else caused you to react in this way.

jenny one of my godd friend's dd is allergic to lavender. She has to avoid all things lavender as she breaks out in hives and rashes. Bit of a pain when using public loos etc.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend you AT ALL jenny that certainly wasn't intended, and don't be put off posting on other threads, we are a friendly bunch - honest.

As to your allergy, it may well be worth seeing the doc or an allery specialist who can test you.

QueenEagle · 27/09/2005 12:34

No offence intended by my many 's.

Sorry Jenny - it's just that the nasty poster called Lavender was particularly vicious towards me personally and stalked me both on MN and on msn. Of course any mention of Lavender just makes me laugh now hence my post. I must be the most "allergic to Lavender" poster on MN!

you don't lose anything by asking, jenny, but I don't rate the chance of a referral very highly. It isn't threatening your life and it can take months, even years in the north, to get a referral when it might do so. I'm being nagged by the school nurse to get my oldest retested but I feel bad about taking up an appointment when so many people are waiting and it isn't going to tell us much.

True- will just let the Dr know anyway. It was only by accident that I realised it was lavender. Thanks for all your help-all of you
