Is it possible for my LO to be allergic to a particular cheese?

Some might have seen my previous thread, basically my 4.5month DD has developed eczema that has really cleared up after my HV prescribed diprobase.

Now I know this is a bit odd but she has had 3 bad flare ups and I had eaten Bree the day/night previously. I did not make this connection until after it had all cleared up and then I had some more bree and noticed that she has spots of eczema again (not as bad thankfully).

I have not changed my diet at all so still eating all dairy including cheese but only bog standard cheddar.

I am not particularly worried, this is more curiosity than anything and I realise it may also just be a coincidence.

But it lead me to thinking is it possible to be allergic to a particular cheese?

Any takers?

TIA

I get a weird hot flush type reaction with certain cheeses, mainly strong blue cheese. Not a proper allergic reaction but definately something occuring - not sure if that helps

Hi - sorry to crash your thread but was just about to post a very similar question. My 15 mo DD loves cheese and eats loads of mature/extra mature/farmhouse cheddar - probably has some every day. This week I bought a cheese we've not had before from M&S - just a mature welsh cheddar. She had some and seemed to have a bit of a reaction around her mouth but thought it couldn't possibly be the cheese. Then I gave her some more tonight and she had a really bad reaction all round her mouth and on her hands which came out in bumps like bites or stings (is that hives??). I gave her some piriton and it didn't spread and went down after an hour. Anyway - do you think it's possible that she's just allergic to this cheese? Thanks for any help

My ds2 seems to be allergic to only cheese.
He had a few allergies when he was very young and was allergic to cow's dairy too (ok with goats milk)
He's recently had 2 bad reactions - hives, itching, coughing and they were both after he ate cheese.
He actually seems fine with normal icecream, butter, normal yoghurt so I do think he's allergic to cow's milk cheese (fine with goats)
