Flooring in the bedroom. What is best?

Ds is allergic to housedust mite as well as tree and grass pollen.

He currently has carpet in his room but I think we are at the point that we need to rip it up and put something else down.

Ideally, I'd go for real wood but don't think funds will allow at the moment and think it will make his room noisier from below.

Are there any pros and cons for laminate vs vinyl?

Don't really fancy vinyl but I think these floors have improved over the years.

What flooring have you found best?

hi, we were told by a professor of allergy that laminate is best (you can get non allergy laminate from most places)as vinyl still holds some dust in like carpet.

Thanks dam.

I've had a quick google for non-allergy laminate but can't see anything. Do you remember any names?

I was a bit worried that mites like lurk in the joins of laminate.

hi its not named non-allergy laminate but on the packaging it says it. we get ours from floors to go but also saw some in b & q.

you can get laminate where there is virtually no join and with regular cleaning the mites don't settle there other than what you are going to get with anything, because you cant eliminate them all.
