I was wondering if anyone could recommend any podcasts or reading that come at understanding alcohol and our relationship with it from a societal rather than an individualistic / psychological / inward-looking point of view.

The latter can definitely be very helpful (Naked Mind, Alcohol Explained, Unexpected Joy, etc), but I feel like a missing piece for me in resetting is building more of an understanding of structural influences.

Thanks for any ideas...

Try Soberful, some very good episodes on alcohol and society/psychology. Two very smart UK hosts, both addiction professionals, one in US, one in UK.

Alcohol Action Ireland has a podcast about the drink industry in Ireland.

The Alcohol Debate, episodes about alcohol in the workplace, alcohol advertising etc,.UK based.

The Alcohol Problem podcast, UK based, about the culture/politics of drinking.

Sober Curious, Ruby Warrington
