What supplements would you recommend?

I gave up alcohol nearly 2 weeks ago and to be honest can’t quite believe I’ve made it this far. I was probably drinking a bottle and a half of wine a night, every night, and had just become so entrenched in a constant cycle of drinking that it became my normal.

I expect I have ADHD, although undiagnosed, and started taking lion’s mane supplements as a trial just before I stopped drinking and I feel they have already made a big difference. I am focussing on both my emotional and physical health and would like to try to repair my poor body which I have not been kind to over the past number of years.

Any supplements you would recommend to help restore and be kind to my body?

Just get a good daily multi vitamin down you
lots of fresh air and walking
good luck and well done

Milk thistle. It cleanses the liver.

Well done on your nearly 2 weeks! A good B complex will be beneficial, or a multivitamin that contains them- alcohol depletes them, so you'll need to rebuild your levels.

Honestly, I wouldn’t waste money on vitamins unless you have a deficiency. What I would do is eat a good varied diet with lots of prebiotic gut friendly foods. Alcohol really wreaks havoc on our guts. You need a good healthy gut to absorb nutrients anyway. I’d focus on that, fresh air and movement and staying sober.

The one thing that is recommended is b-vitamins (it’s thiamine in particular i think). Heavy drinkers are often sufficient and when you stop drinking the deficiency can cause problems. Get a high strength one or double dose.
