It’s Lent - 40 days to go

I need the reset but goodness, I feel this is a long time. I’ve done it before but I’m dreading it this time.
Psychologically hard as this year it stretches over 3 months (February, March and into April). It’s basically 6 weeks, which is the same as last half term but Christmas feels like the long distant past now.

I mean I need a substantial break but feeling daunted.

One day at a time. Don’t think of it as 40 days. Just think of it as one, hopefully followed by another.

Good luck. I look forward to Lent for the reset, not the religion, but it is tough to start.

Thank you.

I understand one day at a time as a way in getting through individual days.
I do worry that I will default to “ well I did sober today, wine tomorrow”.

Yes, I understand the siren call. But keep reminding yourself of how good it feels. To go to bed sober; to wake up refreshed.
Hopefully, after a few days , to actually sleep all night. That, for me, is the reward.

A week ( or so to go).
This has been the hardest weirdly. Knowing the end is in sight has me fixating on “when” I can drink.
I’ve not really thought about drinking at all this time which has been refreshing. I hate the stress of it now.
