To be fair, three of them were in a Louisiana gen pop jail I couldn't bail myself out of. First offense dwi. I don't think I'll be traveling or drinking for about a year as a way to save money and thinking on how I'm living. Been bed rotting all day, but not drinking. Idk what I'm trying to say. Thanks for coming to my bed talk.

Well done on 5 days. Hopefully this was your rock bottom.
Staying sober is a battle.
You can't wallow and think that day 5 6 and 7 will just happen.
Your triggers will come. The guilt will abate. The voice will restart 'have one, life is too short. You deserve it' etc.
I loved 'Alcohol Explained ' by William porter on audible. Or see if there is an AA meeting nearby. You need to think of quitting alcohol as a battle, not a passive experience.

It gets easier. Best of luck. Make a plan for your day. ❤️

Well done! What might help you in your recovery? Have you tried 12steps? There are loads of free meetings online :)

I care too! Stick with it - the first 10 days are a bit shit but then it’s much much easier and the days will fly by

mbosnz · 12/12/2025 10:42

I care. Well done on getting out and not immediately grabbing a drink - that's impressive!
