and I feel so much better after only a week.
i’m looking better, feeling better, have more money and wake up without the feeling of self loathing following another heavy night on the wine.

I was going to moderate but think I might just abstain indefinitely.
Hooefully I’ll lose some weight soon too.
I was drinking a bottle of red wine about 6 times evenings a week so that’s alot of empty calories!

You Go! Keep it up.

Well done, it’s not an easy thing to do 👏

Well done that’s a great achievement and if you can abstain rather than moderating then I’d go for it! Moderating is hard when you’ve had a drink and you feel great for not drinking so I’d try and continue with that

Well done. One week is a huge achievement. One day at a time is all it takes to break a habit.

Keep going. You're doing great. 🥰

Well done. The physical cravings last 1-2 weeks. It sounds like you’re over it already. Now to consolidating this with different and better habits.

Awdangit · 15/09/2025 20:43

Well done op! That is great

Hello everyone. Hope you don’t mind me hopping on this thread.
I’vr quit alcohol before the longest for 3 months but always went back. I don’t drink every day but when I drink I drink and don’t know when to stop, I suffer with anxiety anyway for to hormonal imbalances (early menopause) which the dr has finally prescribed me HRT for but alcohol makes my anxiety so so much more worse, I regularly have blackouts where I don’t remember half or sometimes even the whole of the night. I’ve said things and hurt people that I don’t even remember saying and don’t know even why I said it. I’ve decided now is the time to completely abstain from alcohol. It’s not easy living in a mummy wine society so hoping to chat and share experiences and ideas with likeminded people will help me through any challenges that may lay ahead. I want to feel better and be better. Any success stories, strategies, or just general advice is so welcome over this way xx
