DH has sweats lasting for days

I think I came to the point where I need to admit that my DH has serious problems with alcohol. He had himself sorted for a while but has been slipping back into his old ways lately. We have a baby coming soon and I am seriously considering I need to separate but that's a different topic altogether.

When he drinks heavily the next day he is usually sweating. But to the point where his bedsheets and pyjamas are wet. So let me give you latest example. On Thursday he drank a lot to the point where he passed out on the sofa. He woke up hangover and was sweating. Yesterday he had few glasses of wine and today he still continues sweating (feels wet to touch) and has diarrhea on top of that (I have a feeling diarrhea might not be related, he is using it as an excuse as he is not able to participate in a physical event he has booked himself in today).

I have no medical background but I am 95% sure this is due to his drinking and potential liver damage. I cannot quite explain in medical terms how this would be linked but have no other explanation for it.

It would be interesting to see what you guys think

Hi OP I have seen this drenching sweat with an alcoholic but it was due to withdrawal because they were in hospital. Has your husband had a few dry days and it could be withdrawal ?

Is he managing to hold down a job?

Please say he’s not driving?

@CalzoneOnLegs It wasn't even days. For him it happens pretty much the next day if he drinks more (more than a bottle of wine)

He used to get it when he was drinking heavily for weeks and trying to stop but now even after a day of heavy drinking he's getting it.

@CarrotCake69 I am sorry, it could be alcohol related. Maybe someone else has some medical knowledge, congratulations on your baby 💐
