You need to reflect when you are sober and find healthy ways of dealing with issues 💐

@Marla0174 I'm not hammered just got in from a late shift. But I have downed vodka in the past because I thought it would help. I hope your asleep right now and don't feel too hungover tomorrow.

🥰🥰 Bless you. At least you’re reaching out. You know what you’re doing, you’re using vodka because you think your life is shit. How about taking steps to make your life not so shit?

I know that probably sounds easier said than done but seriously, are there things that you can do to improve your life?

You can always reach out to your GP, or join AA who are amazing, or find the app.Dryy and the group of people in there will help you tremendously xxx

I got therapy free through the NHS. I did have to wait though. I don't know your circumstances but I hope you are OK tonight.

Look up Bee Sober. I think actually you can access the support groups for free, but if not, the monthly membership is the same as I used to spend on alcohol in a single day.

AA is also free and available online and in person. There is a ton of free support.

I very much used to feel like you did. I thought my life was miserable and I had to drink just to drag myself through it. Actually, as it turned out, it was mostly miserable because I was drinking 3 bottles of wine a day, every single day.

Once I stopped that - and personally I just quit and did it on my own because I was fed up with it all - and I got through the initial week when it was weird not to drink, actually life was immensely better. I was drinking 200 units a week. If I can do it, anyone can do it, but it’s a whole lot easier with support, however you find it.

@Marla0174 Hope you’re OK. we’re all here for you x

Icecreamhelps · 15/06/2025 22:44

@Marla0174 life can be really shit, crap and bloody hard. Having a binge might feel helpful god knows I've done it. I'm not ashamed to admit it. And that's the biggest hurdle I had to jump over the 'Shame'

Very glad this worked for you but going cold turkey can be very dangerous. Did you taper down or just stop?
