I gave up alcohol 10 months ago and I am very happy with my decision (I definitely had a problem and am so much healthier now) BUT I sometimes would like a "treat" and I'm looking for something more exciting than alcohol free beer or gin. Just wondering if anyone has tried or could recommend any of these that keep hitting my social media feed?
Lyre - Amaretti - absolutely love the original amaretto especially at Christmas and wonder if the flavour compares?
Also these ones claim to be "mood enhancers" not sure if that's all bollocks. Anyone tried them?
Three Spirit
Sentia

Thanks everyone.

Morning @0hshutupshirley ! I love the three spirit nightcap - gives you a proper warm feeling going down but it is a bit of a strange taste so not for everyone.

I also tried the other two as got the pack of three (can’t remember what they were called) and they were ok but not worth the money for me. I’ve never had any of the “feels” from them, I just really like the taste of nightcap over ice and it does feel like I’m having a nightcap! Tried one of the fizzy wines last Christmas and it was rank - straight down the sink!

I also like the Tripp peach and ginger - I think it maybe does relax me a bit but could be placebo.

Thanks @Pippa246 I love Trip drinks too. Have you tried Goodrays? The grapefruit and blood orange is my fave.

I really like good rays and they are often on offer in Sainsbury's.

M&S do a good range of alcohol free drinks - there are some colourful can ones which I can't remember the name of, but they do a strawberry mojito and Aperol spritz which is nice.

Kombucha is also a good treaty drink.

Haven't tried sentia and I feel there really ought to be something which gives you a mild buzz but isn't illegal or alcohol.

I do like the various nonalcoholic bitters, Suze, venetio and there are others, make a nice drink which is slightly treaty. You can also make one with ice, fizzy water and a few drops of angostura bitters (they do have alcohol in).

@0hshutupshirley haven’t tried the good rays yet - had a bit of a toys out the pram moment trying to cash in a voucher for a free can of goodrays which led to me mentally blacklisting them lol - but I will give them a go as Tripp drinks are hard to come by in my local supermarket.

Another vote for the non alcoholic bitters. I like sanbitters with soda or tonic. Martini do a nice one as well, think its called vibrante.

If you like beer but want something a bit more interesting than a lager, Big Drop do a fantastic Citra IPA

I've heard good things about Pentire as well but they're very expensive.

I really like the Sentia Red and Three Spirit Nightcap. I don’t really think there is anything much to them changing how you feel. My guess is there probably isn’t a medicinal concentration of whatever in there. But I do like the flavour.

The Twisst Caramel Cream is amazing if you like Bailey’s. It truly takes exactly like Bailey’s. It’s very rich and I can literally only have it at Christmas. I had one on Christmas Eve and one on NYE and that was it. I was done for a year!

I drink a lot of ginger kombucha too. The LA Brewery Citra Kombucha is very nice as well.

They do seem a bit to expensive for what is basically herbs.

Everything will work when Alcarelle (synthetic alcohol) is approved but you are going to have to wait until at least 2028 when the USA might, just might get it approved. Could be later however :-(
