Hi all,

I happened upon the Alcohol Tipping Point podcast series, and the first episode I listen to was with a lady called Janey Lee Grace.

It really resonated with me - drinking with a crowd as a social thing, opening a bottle to celebrate/commiserate/contemplate.

She also recommend a fictional-but-real novel by Clare Pooley, called the Sober Diairies,

It's been a game changer to me, to read a biography written like a story, where a mum's life functions but centres around wine, and what she does to address it.

Clare Pooley - The Sober Diaries

Anyone else read it?

What books/podcasts have really influenced you?

@CantFindTheBeat I enjoyed The Sober Diaries. It's funny, as she manages her family life, and she also writes very poignantly about her breast cancer.
A more serious book that motivated me is This Naked Mind by Annie Grace.
I say 'motivated me' but as I'm only on day 1, I'm not counting chickens yet.
Good luck.

I really enjoyed Lotta Dan - Mrs D is going without. It’s free on audible. She has 2 free books on audible and I listened and liked both.

For me it's the 90 Days Later podcast by Anna Charles. Relatable and practical advice. Her last episode on the same old problem was genius:
