Sober podcast recommendations

I’m interested in more sober podcast recommendations. I’ve been listening to sassysobermum’s stories from everyday people and the sobristas (Lucy Rocca). They are good.

I’ve been going out in long dog walks whilst listening and I’ve found this really cathartic.

6 weeks AF 😀

They think it's all sober

Following. I listen to an episode of sassysobermum every day. I have sober Dave's podcast on my list but haven't listened yet.

This episode was interesting too.

I also liked the audiobook by claire Pooley (the sober diaries).

Well done on your 6 weeks AF!

Pippa246 · 12/04/2024 14:34

Huberman lab if the science behind alcohol addiction interests you.

Sober Dave/one for the road - just listened to the one with Clare Pooley which was excellent.

IrisBearded · 12/04/2024 14:37

Over the Influence and the most recent episode 438 of Dr Rangan Chatterjee podcast with Andy Ramage is really good.

Keep going, there is life after alcohol, much more!

IjustbelieveinMe · 12/04/2024 23:14

Yes! Andy Ramage is great.

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 12/04/2024 23:38

I like Sober Awkward - start with the older ones rather than the new ones as they have been in hiatus so the newer ones are 'reruns' / best of type ones.

It's Australian but the presenters are British expats

Well done on 6 weeks!

I like One for the Road, Sober Awkward, and there is an American one called Hello Someday that I've sometimes listened to. I also quite like Behind the Smile, though that isn't always exclusively alcohol/addiction focussed (though the host is a recovering alcoholic herself).

You may also like Bee Sober's the Sober Experiment podcast.

Six weeks is a massive achievement, which has taken a lot of courage and willpower. Well done 😊- I echo the recommendations of One for the Road by Sober Dave. I also found Clare Pooley's book very helpful and "The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober" by Catherine Gray.

Very best wishes to you. x

90 Days Later.

Focuses on drinking less, rarely or not at all. Very pragmatic. She works with people too. Just learned she has an accountability program to support people who are trying to drink less on their own. Not sure link.

I love Sober Powered (for the facts) and Sober Awkward (for the laughs).

AFmammaG · 19/04/2024 18:15

I’m listening to ‘fucking sober - the first 90 days’. I’m on series 2 but I found the first series funny and relatable.

Nevertoomanyfluffies · 19/04/2024 20:30

Well done. I found Present and sober a really good podcast.
