Rehab search?

Username changed for this, obviously, and thanks in advance to anyone who can offer help, I'm getting desperate.

I am looking for rehabs in the UK with a lot of urgency and it is impossible to find their website, let alone any comparators (think a Which? but for substance abuse places). All I can find is different-coloured copies of the same template websites with stuff like "what is rehab"? I need things like the length of stay offered, the price, and whether they take people with comorbid conditions.

If it helps, I need a month (max, but most places don't offer less), as cheap as possible and I do have comorbid conditions.

You'll have to call them. No one seems to list service prices in their websites as its commercial information and usually tailored to individual needs and programmes. Private clinics in my county and surrounding counties are all run by the same overarching business, hence the template websites - sounds similar for you.

Priory I believe is about £5000 a week for an inpatient alcohol detox/rehab programme - this was from a Reddit post as you will not find prices online - you need to contact them directly with your exact requirements. This type of program will be fully medically supported (doctors, nurses, therapists) so I wouldn’t imagine comorbidities would be a problem as such but it could add to the cost. They also offer day-patient treatment which is less expensive but still a lot of money.

Im not associated with The Priory nor have I been but I did research it once as a potential thing to do. I didn’t need a medical detox as I tapered off myself. I could have found the money (add on to mortgage) but I just thought at the end of the month, I’d still be in the same place inside my head. So I didn’t do it.

I got so-called help from the NHS addiction team which variable to be honest. I did 6 months on Antabuse which did stop me drinking but relapsed after stopping it as my problems are trauma related and alcohol abuse was a way of “coping” with intrusive thoughts and insomnia.

I’m not out the woods yet but I’m getting there - I had some therapy which I paid privately for (£50 an hour once a week for 3 months so about £600) and am using various free/online support networks and a determination to sort myself out.

good luck - I hope you can also get the help you need. Abusing alcohol is just no way to live 💐❤️

Thanks Pippa. I have actually been to the Priory, although on a different programme, and found it really quite unhelpful, and super expensive.

I think I've found one which might cater to me. Unfortunately my mother has changed her mind about whether she will lend the money. Sigh. It's a bit Sisyphean.

Thanks again.

Thank you very much! I'm looking at the most basic ones (my mother's first response when I asked if I could borrow some money was "fine, we can mortgage the house" but the lower-end ones are basically small change to them).
