Trigger time tips

I'd love some tips to get over triggers.

I go into the office twice a week (wfh) the other times and finishing work before the commute home is a definite trigger. For years I would go to the pub next to the office and have a drink (sometimes with colleagues).

I'm in the office today and would love a tip to shake that habit on the head. There is a nice cafe near me.... could pop into there and have a hot chocolate with all the trimmings. But other ideas, tips and hints very very welcome!

Thanks in advance. Thanks

What would happen if you didn't leave time between finishing work and commuting? You left the office and went straight to the train and got on listening to a podcast or reading a book.

Or one of the things I did in the early days during these hours was to listen to a sobriety podcast and walk. I mean, the weather here is rubbish today, but could you put on a podcast and walk for an hour or whatever before your train.

I have 2 answers.

First: I think it's great you've identified an obstacle and are seeking strategies. Brilliant! Second: Are you not wanting to go to the pub because you don't want to go to the pub or because you want to avoid the temptation that it contains? There's a big difference.

Because the feeling of temptation stems from us not the pub.

If I suggested you go to the pub and have a fancy mocktail or even a glass of water, what comes up for you? That you do this and maybe stay for just 20 minutes instead of an hour?
