Apologies if there is already a thread on this, I looked and couldn't find one. What are your top recommendations?

Podcasts: One for the Road by Sober Dave, Sober Awkward, This Naked Mind

Books I think depend very much on what sort of drinker you were - lots of people like The Sober Diaries by Claire Pooley (I didn't relate to it as much as others though as I didn't really drink like her), The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober, I also really like We Are The Luckiest by Laura McKowen (I related to this one much more).

I think it’s quite helpful to have some “factual” books in your toolkit - Alcohol Explained by William Porter is very good, as is Drink? By David Nutt (although he is ok with trying to moderate, which may or may not be helpful for you).

Agree with the other recommendations, and would add Sunshine Warm Sober by Catherine Gray if you’re further along in your sober journey.

I found Quit Like a Woman by Holly Whittaker really good too, but not everyone is keen.

Thanks everyone, this is so helpful. Good point about what speaks to you depending on your own drinking history/habits. Will look at all these recommendations.

Posting on this forum has made me realize that I do need some support, and I am grateful to everyone who has taken the time to reply to my threads.

Recovery Elevator podcast it's American but so positive.
Sober powered by Gill Tiertz podcast she is American as well. I know not everyone can relate to American podcasts but I love both of these. Gill is a scientist so explains both the science and the emotional side of alcohol.
Books are very much up to individual taste. I really liked an older one. Mrs D is going without. The author is a New Zelander, she is so honest and plain spoken. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
